Kona

Kona was rescued from the south county shelter on November 16th and has already won our hearts! She is a 13 week old black lab/pit mix with the prettiest and softest coat i've ever seen. Her coat glows with a hint of chocolate brown which helps make her name so fitting. Kona is an little girl with lots of puppy energy. She loves to play tug of war with her doggy brother and sister and loves to use them as a jungle gym to crawl on. She is a shoe thief and moves them from room to room. She also loves to crawl on the couch at night and lay with her head on you and fall asleep. Such a cuddlebug!! Kona goes to the dog park with her doggy sister and brother a couple days a week and loves to play fetch and chase the other big dogs, but never seems to get tired!

Kona is almost completely potty trained and is completely crate trained. She knows how to sit and wait on command and is working on "down". Kona is not yet spayed but will be prior to her adoption. She is going to need a family who can give her lots of love, exercise and structure. Can you give this sweet girl a forever home???

Please note that Pit Bull Rescue San Diego does not adopt on a first come first served basis. Generally we have formed an opinion about the sort of home that we want for each of the dogs in our program. This opinon is formed from knowing each dog and observing their interactions in various situations and through periodic evaluations. Our goal is to place our charges in the home that is the best possible for that particular dog. Our only goal is happiness and forever homes for our dogs. A forever home is most likely to happen when we do the best we can to find lifestyles and personalities that match.

We are aware that this is a human process and that you may or may not agree with our decisions. Please understand that we take very seriously the lives placed in our hands for this brief time and our decisions are only made out of protectiveness for the breed and the specific dogs we are placing and not out of any judgment of you or your life.
